Montreal Alouettes re-sign LB K.D. Davis and three others to two-year contracts

The Montreal Alouettes re-signed wide receiver Daniel Oladejo, offensive lineman Ed Montilus, and linebackers K.D. Davis and Tre Thomas to two-year contract extensions through the 2026 season on Tuesday.

Daniel Oladejo is five foot ten and weighs 192 pounds. The 25-year-old from Ottawa, Ontario, was drafted by the Ottawa Redblacks in the second round (17th pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft. In 2023, he made one catch for 14 yards in one game.

In 2024, Oladejo played in two preseason games making two catches for 38 yards (19.0 AVG). In the regular season, he made three catches for 24 yards (8.0 AVG) in 14 games. The Redblacks released Oladejo on November 3, 2024.

The Montreal Alouettes signed Oladejo on November 5, 2024, and spent a week on the practice squad. The Alouettes released him on November 10, 2024.

Oladejo played five seasons at the University of Ottawa (2017-22) making 63 catches for 781 yards, six touchdowns, and six kick returns for 112 yards. In his senior year, Oladejo was named OUA Second Team All-Star after making 32 catches for 399 yards, and three touchdowns in eight games for the Gee-Gees. In addition, he was named Gee-Gees Team Award for Outstanding Offensive Player and the President’s Award.

Ed Montilus is six foot three and weighs 315 pounds. The 25-year-old from Apopka, Florida, went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. He had a rookie minicamp tryout with the Cleveland Brown in 2024. Montilus signed with the Montreal Alouettes on September 1, 2024, and was placed on the practice squad. The Alouettes released him on September 27, 2024. The Alouettes re-signed Montilus on September 30, 2024, and spent the rest of the season on the practice squad.

Collegiately, Montilus played five seasons at North Carolina (2019-23) playing left guard in 59 games for the Tar Heels. In 2023, North Carolina’s offense ranked 14th in the NCAA in passing yards per game (299.2), 19th in the NCAA in rushing yards per game (192.1), seventh in total yards per game (491.2), and 20th in points per game (34.5).

K.D. Davis is six foot and weighs 230 pounds. The 24-year-old from Ennis, Texas, signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on January 18, 2024. Davis played one preseason game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2024 making one tackle.

The Roughriders released Davis on May 22, 2024. The Montreal Alouettes signed Davis on June 18, 2024. In 2024, Davis made one tackle and one tackle on special teams in two games. The Alouettes released him on November 10, 2024.

Collegiately, Davis played five seasons at North Texas (2018-22) with 428 tackles (200 solo, 228 assists), 32 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, and four fumble recoveries in 61 games for the Mean Green.

He was named First Team All-C-USA by the coaches in 2021, a First Team All-C-USA by Phil Steele in 2022, C-USA Linebacker of the Year by PFN in 2022, and the C-USA Defensive Player of the Year in 2022.

Tre Thomas is six foot one and weighs 220 pounds. The 25-year-old from Burnsville, Minnesota, signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on May 8, 2024. He played two preseason games making 9 tackles and one tackle on special teams.

The Blue Bombers released him on June 2, 2024. The Montreal Alouettes signed Thomas on September 1, 2024, and was placed on the practice squad. The Alouettes released him on September 27, 2024. Montreal re-signed Thomas on September 30, 2024, and spent the rest of the season on the practice squad.

Collegiately, Thomas played four seasons at South Dakota (2019-22) making 78 tackles (33 solos, 45 assists), six tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception for six yards, nine pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 30 games for the Coyotes.

Then, Thomas transferred to Idaho in 2023 making 81 tackles (36 solos, 45 assists), seven tackles for loss, two sacks, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble in 12 games for the Vandals.
