Rutgers concludes the regular season with a dominant win at Michigan State

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (7-5) visited a snowy Spartan Stadium on Saturday afternoon against the Michigan State Spartans (5-7) in the final game of the regular season. Rutgers had 365 yards on offense (157 yards passing, 208 yards rushing), and 23 first downs in a 41-14 win.

Rutgers will now wait to see what bowl game they will play in when the announcement is made in a couple of weeks. Time and date to be determined.

Rutgers quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis completed 13 of 22 passes (59.1%) for 157 yards, one touchdown, and five carries for 17 yards. Running back Kyle Monangai had 31 carries for 129 yards, and one touchdown, while Antwan Raymond had nine carries for 71 yards and two touchdowns.

Wide receiver Ian Strong made four catches for 55 yards, and one touchdown, while Dymere Miller made four catches for 48 yards. Rutgers’s defense made 51 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, and two pass breakups.

Michigan State had 253 yards on offense (150 yards passing, 103 yards rushing), and 13 first downs. Quarterback Aidan Chiles completed 13 of 23 passes (56.5%) for 150 yards, one touchdown, and four carries for -11 yards. Running back Nate Carter had seven carries for 47 yards, one touchdown, and three catches for 23 yards.

Tight end Jack Velling made five catches for 77 yards, and one touchdown, while Jaron Glover made one catch for 22 yards. Michigan State’s defense made 71 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sacks, and three pass breakups.
