The Hamburg Sea Devils signed defensive end Kyle Kitchens on Sunday.
Kyle Kitchens is six foot one and weighs 254 pounds. The 28-year-old from Decatur, Georgia, went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft. In 2019, he played for the Potsdam Royals (GFL) making 76 tackles (51 solos, 26 assists), 31 tackles for loss, 16 sacks, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 14 games. He was named to the GFL North All-Star Team.
In 2020, he was set to play for the Hildesheim Invaders but the season was canceled. He would play the 2020 season with the Aviators (TSL) and the Wild Aces (FCF) in 2021. The Leipzig Kings signed Kitchens in 2021. In 2021, Kitchens made 58 tackles (39 solos, 19 assists), 20.5 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, one pass breakup, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in nine games. He was named Defensive Player of the Year.
The Berlin Thunder signed Kitchens on November 13, 2021. In 2022, Kitchens made 58 tackles (38 solos, 28 assists), 33.5 tackles for loss, 16 sacks, one interception for 8 yards, four pass breakups, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one touchdown in 12 games He was named First Team All-ELF and Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year.
In 2023, Kitchens made 32 tackles (23 solos, 9 assists), 21 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, one fumble recovery, and one touchdown in 11 games. In the 2023 ELF playoffs, Kitchens made four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist), 3.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and one forced fumble. For the third straight season, Kitchens led the league in sacks.
The Thunder re-signed him on October 17, 2023. In 2024, Kitchens made 52 tackles (30 solos, 22 assists), 25 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, one pass breakup, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one touchdown in 10 games.
Collegiately, Kitchens played four seasons at Catawba College (2014-17) making 216 tackles (145 solos, 71 assists), 64.5 tackles for loss, 38 sacks, 7 forced fumbles, 6 fumble recoveries, one interception for 90 yards, 8 pass breakups, and one blocked kick in 45 games for the Indians. He was named a three-time All-American and two-time Defensive Player of the Year (2015, 2017).
