The Toronto Argonauts re-signed offensive lineman George Moore and punter Jeremy Edwards on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.
George Moore is six foot six and weighs 312 pounds. The 28-year-old from Antioch, California, signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2022. He also had stints with the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos.
Then, Moore was drafted by the Arlington Renegades in the 2023 XFL Supplemental Draft and later signed with them as a free agent on January 27, 2023. He played six games, of which five were starts helping the Renegades win the XFL Championship over the D.C. Defenders.
He was then traded to the Seattle Sea Dragons, who were not included in the XFL and USFL merger and was drafted by the D.C. Defenders in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft.
Moore was released by the Defenders on March 10, 2024, and signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on April 24, 2024, but did not play a game for them. The Toronto Argonauts signed Moore on July 8, 2024. In 2024, he played one game against the Edmonton Elks in Week 21. The Argonauts released him on November 18, 2024.
Collegiately, Moore played two seasons at the College of San Mateo (2015-16) helping the Bulldogs average 32.4 points per game, 408.8 total yards per game, and 192.8 rushing yards per contest.
Then, Moore transferred to Oregon (2017-21) playing left tackle and left guard in 31 games, of which 20 were starts for the Ducks. In 2021, Oregon’s offensive line helped pave the way for an Oregon rushing attack that ran for at least 100 yards in 12 out of 14 games, with seven games of 200-plus rushing yards and two games with 300 or more yards on the ground.
Jeremy Edwards is six foot five and weighs 220 pounds. The 24-year-old from Bendigo, Australia, was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the first round (7th pick) in the 2024 CFL Global Draft. In 2024, Edwards punted the ball eight times for 343 yards (42.9 AVG) with a long of 48 yards in two preseason games. He spent the 2024 season on the practice squad. The Argonauts released him on November 18, 2024.
Collegiately, Edwards played two seasons at Eastern Kentucky University (2022-23) punting the ball 84 times for 3,301 yards (39.3 AVG) with a long of 61 yards, four touchbacks, 27 fair catches, 29 from inside the 20-yard line, and nine from 50-plus yards in 23 games for the Colonels.
