The Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed offensive lineman Stanley Bryant to a one-year contract extension through the 2025 season on Monday. This will be Bryant’s 10th season in Winnipeg and 15th in the CFL.
Stanley Bryant is six foot five and weighs 319 pounds. The 38-year-old from Goldsboro, North Carolina, re-signed with the Blue Bombers on January 16, 2024.
In 2024, Bryant played 16 games. Winnipeg’s offense ranked eighth in average points (23.2), sixth in average net offense (358.5), third in average rushing yards (111.7), eighth in average passing yards (260.2), ninth in passing touchdowns (18), and fifth in sacks allowed (36). Bryant was named to the All-CFL Team, CFL West All-Star, and the CFLPA All-Star Team.
Bryant signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He later signed with the Calgary Stampeders on June 10, 2010, and played 66 games. During his time in Calgary, he was named a two-time CFL All-Star and CFL West All-Star. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Bryant on February 10, 2015.
In 2023, Bryant played 17 games helping the Blue Bombers reach their fourth consecutive Grey Cup appearance losing to the Montreal Alouettes.
Winnipeg’s offense ranked first in total points (594), average points per game (31.7), offensive touchdowns (62), average net offense per game (414.7), average rushing yards per game (139.1), second in offensive touchdowns (65), average passing yards per game (292.4), and sacks allowed (33).
In addition, Winnipeg’s offensive line helped running back Brady Oliveira rush for a league-best 1,534 yards in earning his first rushing title. He was named a CFL West All-Star in 2023. The Blue Bombers signed Bryant as a free agent on February 10, 2015.
Bryant’s played 139 games for Winnipeg. Bryant is a three-time Grey Cup champion, four-time CFL’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award, five-time winner of the DeMarco–Becket Memorial Trophy, a nine-time CFL West All-Star, and an eight-time CFL All-Star.
Collegiately, Bryant played one season at Elizabeth City State University in 2005 and two seasons at East Carolina University (2007-08) playing 19 games, of which 14 were starts for the Pirates.
