The Memphis Showboats signed offensive lineman Jerome Carvin, wide receiver Kwamie Lassiter II, and defensive back Lance Boykin on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Jerome Carvin is six foot five and weighs 207 pounds. The 24-year-old from Memphis, Tennessee, signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent on May 8, 2023. In 2023, he suffered an injury and did not play in the preseason. The Chiefs released him on September 6, 2023.
He also spent time with the Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, and Jacksonville Jaguars. In 2024, he played four preseason games with the Bears. The Bears released him on August 26, 2024, and spent time on the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad.
Collegiately, Carvin played five seasons at Tennessee (2018-22) playing left guard, right guard, and center in 60 games, of which 43 were starts for the Volunteers. He allowed only two sacks over 26 games. In 2022, Tennessee’s offense averaged 46.08 points per game, 199.5 rushing yards per game, 326.08 passing yards per game, 525.5 total yards per game, and 79 touchdowns finishing 11-2 to beat Clemson in the Orange Bowl.
Kwamie Lassiter II is five foot eleven and weighs 185 pounds. The 26-year-old from Chandler, Arizona, signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. In 2022, he made 13 catches for 138 yards, three kick returns for 65 yards, and three punt returns for -1 yards in three preseason games.
He played two seasons in Cincinnati making one catch for two yards in one game. In 2024, he made eight catches for 47 games, four kick returns for 80 yards, one punt return for 8 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in three preseason games. The Bengals released him on August 23, 2024.
Collegiately, Lassiter II played five seasons at Kansas (2017-22) making 148 catches for 1,550 yards, 7 touchdowns, one carry for -6 yards, 30 punt returns for 200 yards, one kick return for 19 yards, and four tackles (4 solos) in 48 games for the Jayhawks. He was an All-Big XII Honorable Mention in 2020.
Lance Boykin is six foot two and weighs 198 pounds. The 24-year-old from High Point, North Carolina, signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023.
In 2023, Boykin made five tackles (4 solos, 1 assist) in three preseason games to earn a spot on the practice squad. In 2024, Boykin made two tackles (2 solos) in one preseason game. The Seahawks released him on August 27, 2024.
Collegiately, Boykin made two seasons at Old Dominion (2018-19) making 54 tackles (29 solos, 25 assists), two interceptions for 11 yards, and five pass breakups in 21 games for the Monarchs.
Then, Boykin transferred to Coastal Carolina (2021-22) making 85 tackles (48 solos, 37 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, three interceptions for 30 yards, 15 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 24 games for the Chanticleers. He was named Second Team All-Sun Belt in 2022 and played in the East-West Shrine Bowl in 2023.
