The Edmonton Elks signed fullback Bradley Hladik, offensive linemen Jaxon Morkin and Patrick Lavoie, and kicker Campbell Fair on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Bradley Hladik is six foot four and weighs 235 pounds. The 24-year-old from Vernon, British Columbia, was drafted by the Edmonton Elks in the second round (18th pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft. Hladik appeared in one preseason game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2024 before he was placed on the suspended list. The Elks released him on August 12, 2024, as he returned to British Columbia for his final collegiate season.
Collegiately, Hladik played four seasons at the University of British Columbia (2019-24) making 29 catches for 288 yards, two touchdowns, and nine tackles (4 solos, 5 assists) in 40 games for the Thunderbirds.
In 2023, Hladik made three catches for 31 yards, one touchdown, and one tackle (1 solo) in 11 games. In 2024, Hladik made 17 catches for 169 yards, one touchdown, and three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) in 9 games.
Jaxon Morkin is six foot three and weighs 290 pounds. The 23-year-old from Windsor, Ontario, was drafted by the Edmonton Elks in the fourth round (30th pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft. Morkin appeared in two preseason games for the Elks in 2024 earning a spot on the practice squad. The Elks released him on August 12, 2024, and he returned to Windsor to play in his final collegiate season.
Collegiately, Morkin played four seasons at the University of Windsor (2019-24) making one catch for two yards, and one carry for 8 yards in 28 games for the Lancers in 2023. He helped the Lancers win their first playoff game in 50 years. In 2024, Morkin started nine games. Windsor’s offense averaged 26.11 points per game, 195.2 rushing yards per game, 163.78 passing yards per game, 339.0 total yards per game, and 22 touchdowns finishing 5-4 in the season and losing to Queen’s in the OUA Quarterfinals.
Patrick Lavoie is six foot four and weighs 294 pounds. The 24-year-old from Gatineau, Quebec, was drafted in the seventh round (63rd pick) of the 2024 CFL Draft. Lavoie did not play for the Elks in the preseason. He was placed on the suspended list on May 19, 2024, and returned to Carleton for his final collegiate season.
Collegiately, Lavoie played four seasons at Carleton University (2019-24) playing guard and center in 37 games for the Ravens. In 2019, he was named the team’s Rookie of the Year. In 2024, Carleton’s offense averaged 28.3 points per game, 399.8 yards per game, 276.3 rushing yards per game, and 23 touchdowns.
Campbell Fair is six foot one and weighs 180 pounds. The 24-year-old from Carrying Place, Ontario, was drafted by the Calgary Stampeders in the sixth round (51st pick) in the 2023 CFL Draft. He had a brief stint in Calgary before joining the Saskatchewan Roughriders practice squad upon returning to the University of Ottawa.
Fair re-signed with the Calgary Stampeders on November 20, 2023. Fair played two preseason games making 6 of 6 field goals with a long of 34 yards, converted four extra points, and 12 kickoffs for 771 yards. The Stampeders released him on June 1, 2024. The Edmonton Elks signed Fair on September 14, 2024, and spent a month on the practice squad. The Elks released him on October 13, 2024.
Campbell Fair played five seasons at the University of Ottawa (2018-23) converting 62 of 88 field goals (70%) with a long of 55 yards, making 80 of 83 extra points (266 points), 153 punts for 6,017 yards with a long of 68 yards, and 22 punts from inside the 20-yard line. He was named OUA Second Team All-Star and the Chris Evraire Award for Outstanding Special Teams Player in 2022.
