The Memphis Showboats signed wide receiver Kyle Sheets, offensive lineman Ryan Johnson, and defensive end Jaylon Allen on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Kyle Sheets is six foot four and weighs 220 pounds. The 24-year-old from Springboro, Pennsylvania, signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. The Saints released him on June 14, 2024.

The Kansas City Chiefs signed Sheets on July 17, 2024. In 2024, Sheets was targeted two times but made no catches in two preseason games. The Chiefs released him on August 26, 2024.

Collegiately, Sheets played four seasons at Slippery Rock University (2019, 2021-23) making 154 catches for 2,440 yards, 29 touchdowns, completing 2 of 3 passes (67%) for 84 yards, one tackle (1 assist), one interception for 34 yards, and one pass breakup in 51 games for the Rock.

In 2024, Sheets made 76 catches for 1,186 yards, 17 touchdowns, completed 1 of 2 passes (50%) for 48 yards, and one interception for 34 yards in 14 games. He was named First Team All-PSAC (2023), Second Team All-PSAC (2022), and First Team All-Region (2023).

Ryan Johnson is six foot two and weighs 306 pounds. The 24-year-old from Cincinnati, Ohio, signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2024. The Patriots released him on June 17, 2024. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Johnson on August 8, 2024. In 2024, he played three preseason games. The Buccaneers released him on August 27, 2024.

Collegiately, Johnson played three seasons at Duquesne University (2018-20) playing right guard in 16 games, of which 12 were starts for the Dukes. In the 2020-21 season, he helped block for First Team All-NEC quarterback Joe Mischler, along with All-NEC running back Garrett Owens, and NEC Rookie of the Year running back Billy Lucas.

Then, Johnson transferred to Youngstown State (2021-23) playing right guard and right tackle in 31 games, of which 26 were starts. In 2023, Youngstown State’s offense averaged 32 points per game, 164.4 rushing yards per game, 245.85 passing yards per game, 410.2 total yards per game, and 52 touchdowns finishing 8-5 for the season. They lost to Villanova in the Second Round of the FCS Playoffs.

Jaylon Allen is six foot three and weighs 240 pounds. The 24-year-old from Humble, Texas, signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, Allen played in one preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts recording no stats. The Broncos released him on August 14, 2024.

Collegiately, Allen played five seasons at Memphis (2019-23) making 150 tackles (77 solos, 73 assists), 25.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, one interception for 39 yards, one touchdown, five pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 60 games for the Tigers.

In 2023, Allen made 40 tackles (23 solos, 17 assists), seven tackles for loss, two sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 13 games. He was named a two-time Fourth Team All-AAC by Phil Steele (2022-23), All-AAC Honorable Mention in 2022, and Second Team All-AAC in 2023.
