The Montreal Alouettes and defensive lineman Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund agreed to a one-year contract extension through the 2026 season on Tuesday.
Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund is six foot two and weighs 248 pounds. The 28-year-old Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, signed a two-year contract with the Montreal Alouettes on February 13, 2024. In 2024, he made 36 tackles, five tackles on special teams, seven sacks, and one forced fumble in 17 games.
The Calgary Stampeders drafted Adeyemi-Berglund in the first round (3rd pick) of the 2020 CFL Draft. In 2023, he made 20 tackles, three tackles on special teams, five sacks, and one forced fumble in 18 games. In three seasons with Calgary, Adeyemi-Berglund made 52 tackles, nine tackles on special teams, 14 sacks, and one forced fumble in 42 games.
Collegiately, Adeyemi-Berglund played one season at Champlain College in 2015 where the team won the Bol D’Or Championship. Then, he transferred to Southeastern Louisiana University (2016-19) with 135 tackles (66 solos, 69 assists), 26 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, six forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and ten pass breakups in 31 games for the Lions. He was named All-Southland Conference Honorable Mention in 2018.
