The Toronto Argonauts signed wide receiver Mark Pope on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Mark Pope is six foot and weighs 180 pounds. A native of Miami, Florida, Pope went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. At the NFL Combine, Pope ran a 4.51 in the 40-yard dash, 2.59 in the 20-yard dash, 1.50 in the 10-yard dash, a vertical jump of 30 ½, 9’5” in the broad jump, 4.30 in the 20-yard shuttle, and 7.20 in the cone drill.
Collegiately, Pope played four seasons at Miami (FL) (2018-21) making 52 catches for 680 yards, four touchdowns, five carries for 39 yards, five kick returns for 71 yards, and six punt returns for 32 yards in 34 games, of which 11 were starts for the Hurricanes. In 2020, he ranked third on the team for receptions (33) and receiving yards (403).
Next, he transferred to Jackson State in 2022 making one catch for 15 yards, and five punt returns for 68 yards in four games for the Tigers. Then, he transferred to the University of Massachusetts in 2023 making 33 catches for 420 yards, one touchdown, five carries for nine yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 12 games for the Minutemen. He was named Second Team All-Independent by College Football Network.
