The Edmonton Elks signed defensive lineman Micah Roane on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Micah Roane is six foot four and weighs 255 pounds. The 25-year-old from Chaska, Minnesota, Roane was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in the fourth round (38th pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft. In 2024, Roane dressed for six games but did not see any action. The Alouettes released him on November 10, 2024.
Collegiately, Roane played four seasons at South Dakota (2020-23) making 94 tackles (44 solos, 50 assists), 13.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 40 games for the Coyotes.
In 2023, Roane made 40 tackles (18 solos, 22 assists), seven tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 13 games. Roane was the team’s AFCA Good Works Team Nominee for his work on the field and in the community.
