Ottawa Redblacks and offensive lineman Zack Pelehos agree to a two-year extension

The Ottawa Redblacks and offensive lineman Zack Pelehos agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2026 season on Monday. Pelehos was scheduled to be a free agent in February.

Zack Pelehos is six foot five and weighs 304 pounds. The 25-year-old from Gananoque, Ontario, played 14 games in 2024. In 2024, Ottawa’s offense averaged 366.9 net yards per game, 24.6 points per game, 83.7 rushing yards per game, 303.1 passing yards per game, 38 touchdowns, and tied sixth in sacks allowed (40).

The Redblacks finished third in the Eastern Division and lost to the Toronto Argonauts in the Eastern Semi-Final. The Ottawa Redblacks drafted Pelehos in the first round (2nd pick) in the 2022 CFL Draft. Pelehos has played 38 games in three seasons in Ottawa.

Collegiately, Pelehos played four seasons at the University of Ottawa (2019-21) playing right tackle in 16 games for the Gee-Gees. He was named to the OUA All-Rookie Team in 2018, OUA Second Team All-Star in 2018, OUA First Team All-Star in 2021, and the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2021.
