The Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed defensive back Jayden Dalke to a one-year contract extension through the 2025 season on Wednesday. Dalke was scheduled to be a free agent in February.
Jayden Dalke is six foot one and weighs 200 pounds. The 28-year-old from Leduc, Alberta, made 10 tackles, four tackles on special teams, one sack, and one forced fumble in 16 games in 2024.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders drafted Dalke in the sixth round (54th pick) in the 2022 CFL Draft. In 2022, Dalke made 15 tackles and 11 tackles on special teams in 13 games. In 2023, he made 41 tackles, three tackles on special teams, one interception, and two forced fumbles in 14 games.
Dalke began playing football for the Edmonton Wildcats (CJFL) (2015-18) making 183 tackles (165 solos, 18 assists), 29 tackles on special teams, one sack, one forced fumble, six fumble recoveries, seven interceptions, one touchdown, 12 pass breakups, and two kick returns for 29 yards in 32 games.
Collegiately, Dalke played two seasons at the University of Alberta (2019, 2021) making 93 tackles (68 solos, 25 assists), 1.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions for 43 yards, one touchdown, 10 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 15 games for the Golden Bears. He was named First Team All-Canadian in 2019 and Second Team All-Canadian in 2021.
