The Montreal Alouettes and defensive back Kabion Ento agreed to a two-year contract extension on Thursday.
Kabion Ento is six foot one and weighs 190 pounds. The 28-year-old from Pine Buff, Arkansas, made 56 tackles, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles in 18 games on his way to being named a CFL East All-Star.
The Green Bay Packers signed Ento as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2019. In 2019, he made six tackles (5 solos, 1 assist) and one pass breakup in one preseason game to earn a spot on the practice squad. In 2020, he broke a bone in his foot and missed the entire season.
In 2021, Ento made 10 tackles (6 solos, 4 assists), one interception, and one pass breakup in three preseason games and spent the season on the practice squad. In 2022, Ento made five tackles (4 solos, 1 assist) and one pass breakup in three preseason games. The Packers released him on August 30, 2022.
The Montreal Alouettes signed Ento on January 16, 2023. In 2023, Ento made 48 tackles, three interceptions, and one touchdown in 15 games helping the Alouettes win the 110th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Collegiately, Ento played two seasons at East Central Community College in Mississippi (2014-15) as a wide receiver making 59 catches for 885 yards, and ten touchdowns in 19 games for the Warriors. He was named First Team South All-State in 2015.
Then, Ento transferred to Colorado (2016-18) making 20 catches for 335 yards, two touchdowns, and five tackles (4 solos, 1 assist) in 25 games for the Buffaloes. In 2018, Ento caught 12 passes for 161 yards, and four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist) in his senior season. After the season, he was presented with the Derek Singleton Award, which is given to the player who shows the most spirit, dedication, and enthusiasm.
