The St. Louis Battlehawks signed quarterbacks Max Duggan, Chevan Cordeiro, and Manny Wilkins on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Max Duggan is six foot one and weighs 207 pounds. The 23-year-old from Council Bluffs, Iowa, was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers in the seventh round (239th pick) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He signed with the Chargers on May 12, 2023.
In 2023, Duggan completed 6 of 12 passes (50%) for 34 yards, one touchdown, and 10 carries for 71 yards in two preseason games. He spent the majority of the 2023 season on the practice squad. In 2024, Duggan completed 4 of 7 passes (57.1%) for 41 yards, and two carries for 15 yards in two preseason games. The Chargers released him on August 19, 2024.
Collegiately, Duggan played four seasons at TCU (2019-22) completing 739 of 1,225 passes (60%) for 9,618 yards, 73 touchdowns, 28 interceptions, 488 carries for 1,856 yards, 28 touchdowns, two catches for one yard, and two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in 47 games for the Horned Frogs.
Duggan led the Horned Frogs to the CFP National Championship Game against Georgia in 2023. In that game, he completed 14 of 22 passes (63.6%) for 152 yards, two interceptions, 10 carries for -38 yards, and one touchdown. In 2022, Duggan was named First Team All-Big XII, Second Team All-American, Big XII Athlete of the Year, Big XII Offensive Player of the Year, and winners of the Davey O’Brien Award, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, Bob Bowlsby Award, and the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award.
Chevan Cordeiro is six foot one and weighs 200 pounds. The 25-year-old from Honolulu, Hawaii, was drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks in the first round (5th pick) of the 2024 UFL College Draft. The Seattle Seahawks signed Cordeiro as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2024, and was released on May 8, 2024.
Collegiately, Cordeiro played four seasons at Hawaii (2018-21) completing 489 of 835 passes (59%) for 6,167 yards, 45 touchdowns, 22 interceptions, 295 carries for 1,083 yards, 13 touchdowns, punted the ball five times for 180 yards (36.0 AVG) with a long of 53 yards, one from inside the 20-yard line, and one from 50-plus yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 36 games for the Rainbow Warriors.
Then, he transferred to San Jose State (2022-23) completing 482 of 789 passes (61.1%) for 6,024 yards, 43 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, 219 carries for 537 yards, 12 touchdowns, and one catch for 19 yards in 25 games for the Spartans. He was named Second Team All-Mountain West in 2022 and First Team All-Mountain West in 2023.
Manny Wilkins is six foot two and weighs 193 pounds. The 28-year-old from Novato, California, re-signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks on February 8, 2024. In 2024, Wilkins completed 27 of 50 passes (54%) for 305 yards, one touchdown, three interceptions, 24 carries for 141 yards, and three touchdowns in three games.
Wilkins signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2019. In 2019, Wilkins completed 2 of 6 passes (33%) for 35 yards, and seven carries for 24 yards in three preseason games. The Packers released him on April 27, 2020. Next, he signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks as a free agent on February 12, 2023, but did not play.
Collegiately, Wilkins played five seasons at Arizona State (2014-18) completing 704 of 1,114 passes (63%) for 8,624 yards, 52 touchdowns, 23 interceptions, 385 carries for 1,035 yards, 20 touchdowns, and punted the ball five times for 181 yards (36.2 AVG) with a long of 43 yards in 41 games for the Sun Devils.
