The Calgary Stampeders and wide receiver Jalen Philpot agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2026 season on Friday.
Jalen Philpot is six foot and weighs 190 pounds. The 24-year-old from Delta, British Columbia, made 66 catches for 659 yards, three touchdowns, and 15 carries for 115 yards in 18 games in 2024.
The Calgary Stampeders drafted Philpot in the first round (5th pick) of the 2022 CFL Draft. In 2022, he made 23 catches for 317 yards, three touchdowns, 10 carries for 102 yards, 22 kick returns for 598 yards, and one punt return for 13 yards in 13 games. In 2023, Philpot injured his hamstring in the off-season and underwent surgery missing the entire season.
Collegiately, Philpot played three seasons at the University of Calgary (2018-19, 2021) making 140 catches for 2,374 yards, 14 touchdowns, 14 carries for 101 yards, nine kick returns for 311 yards, one touchdown, 19 punt returns for 211 yards, three tackles (3 solos), one forced fumble, and one blocked kick in 28 games for the Dinos. He was named a two-time All-Canadian (2019, 2021), and helped the Dinos win the Vanier Cup in 2019.
