The B.C. Lions released wide receiver Terry Williams on Monday.
Terry Williams is five foot nine and weighs 170 pounds. The 28-year-old from Greenwood, Mississippi, re-signed with the B.C. Lions on January 3, 2024. In 2024, Williams had 65 punt returns for 746 yards and 57 kick returns for 1,335 yards in 18 games.
Williams signed with the Ottawa Redblacks as a free agent on January 18, 2021, with ten kick returns for 169 yards in two games. In 2022, Williams had ten catches for 71 yards, five carries for 26 yards, and 61 kick returns for 1,526 yards in 17 games.
The B.C. Lions acquired Williams in a trade from the Ottawa Redblacks on September 4, 2022, for a 2023 third-round draft pick and a conditional pick in the 2024 CFL Draft. In 2023, Williams made two catches for 11 yards, and 57 kick returns for 1,315 yards in 18 games for the Lions in 2023.
Collegiately, Williams played two seasons at Itawamba Community College (2016-17) making 145 catches for 2,005 yards, 13 touchdowns, one carry for 14 yards, 16 kick returns for 423 yards, one touchdown, and 14 punt returns for 52 yards in 18 games for the Indians.
Then, Williams transferred to Tennessee-Martin (2018-19) making 125 catches for 1,317 yards, six touchdowns, 13 carries for 80 yards, one touchdown, 27 kick returns for 514 yards, 40 punt returns for 608 yards, and two touchdowns in 23 games for the Skyhawks. He was named First Team All-OVC in 2019, and OVC All-Newcomer Team in 2018.
