The Calgary Stampeders and offensive lineman Zack Williams agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2026 season on Monday. Williams was scheduled to be a free agent in February.
“Zack is another one of the young Canadians who is part of our foundation,” said Calgary general manager and head coach Dave Dickenson. “We feel he’s the type of player we want to build with and we’re glad to have him back.”
Zack Williams is six foot four and weighs 315 pounds. The 27-year-old from Winnipeg, Manitoba, played 12 games for the Stampeders in 2024. Calgary’s offense averaged 21.5 points per game, 354.1 net offense per game, 108.6 rushing yards per game, 260.1 passing yards per game, 40 touchdowns, and allowed 30 sacks in 2024.
“I’m thrilled to be continuing my journey with the Stampeders,” said Williams. “This team has become a second family to me, and I’m excited to contribute to our shared vision of success in the seasons to come. We’ve got a great group of players, coaches, and fans, and I’m looking forward to making even more memories with this incredible organization.”
The Calgary Stampeders drafted Williams in the third round (28th pick) of the 2019 CFL Draft. Williams has played 61 games, of which 60 were starts in four seasons in Calgary.
Collegiately, Williams played four seasons at the University of Manitoba (2015-18) playing 32 games for the Bisons. In 2018, Manitoba’s offense averaged 467.3 total yards per game, 168.1 rushing yards per game, 299.1 passing yards per game, 28.1 points per game, and 23 touchdowns.
