The Toronto Argonauts signed wide receiver Shane Hooks on Thursday.
Shane Hooks is six foot four and weighs 191 pounds. The 25-year-old from Orlando, Florida, went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Edmonton Elks signed Hooks on May 18, 2024. In 2024, Hooks played two preseason games making three catches for 29 yards. The Elks released him on June 1, 2024.
Collegiately, Hooks played three seasons at Ohio University (2018-20) making 34 catches for 635 yards, six touchdowns, and six kick returns for 372 yards in 21 games for the Bobcats. Next, Hooks transferred to Jackson State University (2021-22) making 82 catches for 974 yards, 12 touchdowns, four tackles (4 solos), and one tackle for loss in 23 games for the Tigers.
Then, Hooks transferred to Auburn in 2023 making 10 catches for 144 yards, and two touchdowns in 13 games for the Tigers. After the season, Hooks played in the 2024 Trillion Tropical Bowl, an FBS Division I level College Football All-Star Game played in Orlando, Florida.
