The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed defensive back Tyrique McGhee on Friday.
Tyrique McGhee is five foot ten and weighs 187 pounds. The 26-year-old from Byron, Georgia, missed the preseason with an injury and was placed on the practice squad in 2024. He dressed for two regular season games in 2024 but did not see any action. The Blue Bombers released him on November 8, 2024.
McGhee signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2020. There were no preseason games played and he was placed on the practice squad. The Rams released him on April 19, 2021.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed McGhee on February 22, 2022. He was released on May 14, 2022. He re-signed with the Blue Bombers on June 27, 2023. In 2023, McGhee dressed for one game but did not see any action.
Collegiately, McGhee played four seasons at the University of Georgia (2016-19) making 59 tackles (28 solos, 31 assists), one tackle for loss, half a sack, two interceptions for two yards, 11 pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 50 games for the Bulldogs.
