The Arlington Renegades signed linebacker Jabril Cox on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Jabril Cox is six foot three and weighs 233 pounds. The 26-year-old from Kansas City, Missouri, was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round (115th pick) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He played two seasons in Dallas making eight tackles (5 solos, 3 assists) in 16 games. In 2023, he made 13 tackles (9 solos, 4 assists) in three preseason games. The Cowboys released him on August 29, 2023.
The Washington Commanders signed Cox on August 31, 2023. In 2023, Cox made two tackles (2 solos) in two games. He became a free agent after the 2023 season. The Minnesota Vikings signed Cox on July 25, 2024. In 2024, Cox made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in one preseason game. The Vikings released him on August 22, 2024.
Collegiately, Cox played three seasons at North Dakota State University (2017-19) making 258 tackles (158 solos, 100 assists), 32 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, six interceptions for 190 yards, two touchdowns, 18 pass breakups, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, and one kick return for three yards in 45 games for the Bisons.
He was part of three FCS Championship teams from 2017 to 2019. He was named a two-time FCS All-American, two-time First Team All-MVFC (2018-19), MVFC Freshman of the Year, and MVFC Defensive Player of the Year.
Then, he transferred to LSU in 2020 making 58 tackles (39 solos, 19 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, one sack, eight pass breakups, three interceptions for 64 yards, and one touchdown in 10 games for the Tigers.
