The Toronto Argonauts released wide receiver Richard Burton, offensive lineman Edouard Paradis, and linebacker Malik Clements on Tuesday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Richard Burton is six foot and weighs 183 pounds. The 25-year-old from Ottawa, Ontario, attended the Argonauts training camp in 2023. The Argo’s drafted Burton in the sixth round (47th pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft.

In 2023, Burton played in two preseason games recording no stats. The Argonauts released him on June 3, 2023, and re-signed him on December 8, 2023. Toronto placed Burton on the retired list on March 19, 2024.

Collegiately, Burton played five seasons at Queen’s University (2018-23) with 131 catches for 2,016 yards, nine touchdowns, two carries for 12 yards, one kickoff for 47 yards, five kickoff returns for 91 yards, 19 punt returns for 160 yards, and one touchdown in 31 games for the Gaels.

Edouard Paradis is six foot four and weighs 320 pounds. The 27-year-old from Levis, Quebec, attended the Argonauts training camp in 2023. The Argonauts drafted Paradis in the fifth round (45th pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft. The Argonauts released him on August 15, 2023, and re-signed him on December 8, 2023. Toronto placed him on the retired list on May 27, 2024.

Collegiately, Paradis played two seasons at New Mexico Military Institute (2018-19) playing eleven games at left guard for the Broncos. He helped the Broncos reach the SWJCFC finals and was named SWJCFC All-Conference Honorable Mention. Then, Paradis transferred to Houston Baptist University (2020-22) playing 21 games playing left guard.

Malik Clements is six foot and weighs 216 pounds. The 27-year-old from Danville, Virginia, made 23 tackles, six tackles on special teams, three sacks, and one forced fumble in 12 games for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2023. The Blue Bombers signed Clements as a free agent on March 4, 2022.

In 2022, Clements made 31 tackles, four tackles for loss, and one sack in 12 games. Before Winnipeg, Clements signed with the Edmonton Elks on January 24, 2020. He played one season in Edmonton in 2021 with 11 tackles and two tackles on special teams in seven games. The Toronto Argonauts signed Clements on February 14, 2024. Toronto placed him on the retired list on May 12, 2024.

Collegiately, Clements played four seasons at Cincinnati (2015-18) with 187 tackles (88 solo, 99 assists), nine tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception for 14 yards, one touchdown, six pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 50 games for the Bearcats.
