The Edmonton Elks released defensive lineman Elliott Brown on Wednesday to pursue an NFL opportunity.

Elliott Brown is six foot four and weighs 225 pounds. The 26-year-old from Odenton, Maryland, signed with the Edmonton Elks on December 1, 2022. In 2023, he made 10 tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble in 18 games. In 2024, Brown made 44 tackles, eight sacks, and one forced fumble in 18 games on his way to being named a CFL West All-Star.

Collegiately, Brown played five seasons at Virginia (2017-21) making 61 tackles (31 solos, 30 assists), 8.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, three pass breakups, and one interception in 53 games for the Cavaliers. In 2020, Brown made four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist), one tackle for loss, and one pass breakup in ten games.

In 2021, he made 42 tackles (25 solos, 17 assists), five tackles for loss, three sacks, and one pass breakup in 12 games. He was named to the 2021 ACC Academic Honor Roll.

In high school, Brown played wide receiver and linebacker. As a wide receiver, he caught 65 passes for 591 yards, six touchdowns, and two sacks on defense. In addition to football, he played basketball and ran track. He was named All-Erickson and All-Founders League at Taft Junior High School.
