The B.C. Lions and defensive lineman Tibo Debaillie agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2026 season on Thursday. Debaillie was scheduled to be a free agent next month.
Tibo Debaillie is six foot two and weighs 285 pounds. The 27-year-old from Gistel, Belgium, made eight tackles, one sack, and one touchdown in 14 games for the Lions in 2024.
The Edmonton Elks drafted Debaillie in the third round (20th pick) of the 2021 CFL Global Draft. In 2021, he made one tackle in three games. The B.C. Lions signed Debaillie on May 3, 2022. In 2022, Debaillie made 20 tackles and three sacks in 18 games. In 2023, he made 14 tackles and one sack in 18 games.
In 2016, Debaillie played for the Ostend Pirates (BFL) helping the Pirates win Belgian Bowl XXIX. Collegiately, Debaillie played three seasons at Towson (2017-19) making 29 tackles (11 solos, 18 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in 22 games for the Tigers.
