The Calgary Stampeders re-signed wide receiver to a two-year contract extension through the 2026 season on Friday. According to the Canadian Press writer Dan Ralph, Begelton will make roughly $430k in guaranteed money.

Reggie Begelton is six foot and weighs 204 pounds. The 31-year-old from Beaumont, Texas, has made 92 catches for 1,150 yards, and four touchdowns in 18 games for the Stampeders in 2024. He was named to the All-CFL Team and a CFL West All-Star.

The Calgary Stampeders signed Begelton as a free agent on May 17, 2017. In his first stint in Calgary, Begelton made 149 catches for 2,236 yards, 12 touchdowns, four carries for 38 yards, and one touchdown in 35 games. In 2020, he left Calgary to sign with the Green Bay Packers.

In 2021, Begelton returned to Calgary after two seasons on the Green Bay Packers practice squad. He made nine catches for 133 yards, one touchdown, and one carry for 21 yards in two games. In 2022, Begelton made 85 catches for 957 yards, six touchdowns, and four carries for 42 yards in 18 games.

In 2023, he made 86 catches for 1,119 yards, five touchdowns, and two carries for 13 yards in 15 games for the Stampeders in 2023. He won the 2023 Herm Harrison Memorial Award for his outstanding community service.

In seven seasons in Calgary, Begelton made 421 catches for 5,595 yards, 28 touchdowns, 11 carries for 114 yards, one touchdown, and six kick returns for 130 yards in 52 games. He is a member of the 2018 Stampeders Grey Cup championship team. In addition, he is a three-time CFL West All-Star and a three-time All-CFL Team.

Collegiately, Begelton played four seasons at Lamar University (2012-15) making 195 catches for 2,136 yards, 17 touchdowns, three carries for 29 yards, and one kick return for 12 yards in 40 games for the Cardinals. He graduated as the Cardinals’ all-time leader in catches and touchdowns. He was selected to the first-team all-Southland Conference in 2015 and a two-time second-team selection in 2013 and 2014.
