The Toronto Argonauts re-signed running back Deonta McMahon and defensive back Jonathan Edouard and signed defensive back Lawrence Johnson on Friday.

Deonta McMahon is five foot nine and weighs 185 pounds. The 24-year-old from Frostproof, Florida, had 48 carries for 288 yards, four touchdowns, 30 catches for 237 yards, one touchdown, 22 kick returns for 456 yards, and six punt returns for 39 yards in 18 games helping the Argonauts win the 111th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In the Grey Cup, McMahon made two catches for 41 yards.

The Toronto Argonauts signed McMahon on May 3, 2023. In 2023, he had 38 carries for 134 yards, three touchdowns, 10 catches for 64 yards, and four kick returns for 80 yards in seven games.

Collegiately, McMahon played two seasons at Butte College (2018-19) with 236 carries for 1,507 yards, 19 touchdowns, 18 catches for 210 yards, four kick returns for 111 yards, and one punt return for five yards in 17 games for the Road Runners. He was named All-American in 2018.

Then, he transferred to McNeese State (2020-22) with 337 carries for 2,155 yards, 21 touchdowns, 57 catches for 519 yards, two touchdowns, 13 kick returns for 272 yards, one pass for 33 yards, and one touchdown in 27 games for the Cowboys. He was named All-Southland Conference Second Team in 2021 and First-Team All-Conference in 2022.

Jonathan Edouard is five foot eleven and weighs 185 pounds. The 28-year-old from Orlando, Florida, made six tackles, one tackle on special teams, and one interception in six games for the Argonauts in 2024 helping them win the 111th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The Toronto Argonauts signed Edouard on September 30, 2022. He spent the season on the practice squad. In 2023, he made six tackles, 11 tackles on special teams, and one sack in 18 games.

Collegiately, Edouard played three seasons at Henderson State University (2014-16) making 69 tackles (47 solos, 22 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, two interceptions, 11 pass breakups, one fumble recovery and completed one pass for three yards in 32 games for the Reddies.

Then, Edouard transferred to Carleton (2018-19, 2021) making 62 tackles (48 solos, 14 assists), three interceptions for 21 yards, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 15 games for the Ravens. Edouard was named Second Team OUA All-Star in 2018.

Lawrence Johnson is six foot and weighs 205 pounds. The 25-year-old from St. Louis, Missouri, signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, he made five tackles (3 solos, 2 assists) in three preseason games. The Saints released Johnson on August 27, 2024.

Collegiately, Johnson played six seasons at Southeast Missouri State (2018-23) making 283 tackles (179 solos, 104 assists), 18.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, two interceptions for 51 yards, 22 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, completed one pass for 19 yards and made one catch for four yards in 55 games for the Redhawks.

Johnson was named First Team All-OVC, Second Team All-OVC, Second Team All-American by American Football Coaches Association, and Third Team All-American by STATS and Phil Steele.
