The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have restructured the contract of quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell on Friday according to 3DownNation writer Justin Dunk.
Bo Levi Mitchell is six foot one and weighs 210 pounds. The 34-year-old from Katy, Texas, completed 420 of 614 passes (68.4%) for 5,451 yards, 32 touchdowns, 18 interceptions, and 16 carries for 124 yards in 18 games in 2024. Mitchell was named to the All-CFL Team and a CFL East All-Star.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats acquired Mitchell from the Calgary Stampeders on November 14, 2022, for a 2023 third-round pick, a 2024 fourth-round pick, and future considerations.
In 2023, he completed 78 of 132 passes (59%) for 1,031 yards, six touchdowns, ten interceptions, and five carries for 14 yards in six games. He suffered two injuries in 2023 injuring his adductor and a fractured leg.
Mitchell signed with the Calgary Stampeders on April 30, 2012. He played 11 seasons for the Calgary Stampeders. He completed 2,496 of 3,866 passes (64.6%) for 32,541 yards, which set a new franchise record, along with 188 touchdowns, 89 interceptions, 169 carries for 772 yards, and 14 touchdowns in 165 games.
In 2022, Mitchell completed 160 of 261 passes (61.3%) for 2,010 yards, nine touchdowns, six interceptions, and seven carries for 26 yards in 18 games, of which nine were starts. Mitchell became the team’s all-time passing leader in a Week 10 game against the B.C. Lions.
A week later, he was benched for Jake Maier after throwing two interceptions. Mitchell’s last game came in the Western Semi-Final against the B.C. Lions.
In Calgary, Mitchell won two Grey Cup championships (2014, 2018). He was named a two-time Grey Cup Most Valuable Player, two-time CFL Most Outstanding Player Award, three-time CFL West All-Star (2015, 2016, 2018), and two-time CFL All-Star (2016, 2018).
Collegiately, Mitchell played two seasons at SMU (2008-09) completing 385 of 676 passes (57%) for 4,590 yards, 36 touchdowns, and 33 interceptions in 21 games for the Mustangs. Then, Mitchell transferred to Eastern Washington (2010-11) completing 618 of 1,008 passes (61.3%) for 7,505 yards, 70 touchdowns, and 28 interceptions in 26 games for the Eagles.
He led the Eagles to a come-from-behind win over the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens in the 2011 FCS Championship game 20-19 to win the school’s first national championship.
