The B.C. Lions re-signed defensive back Garry Peters to a one-year contract extension through the 2025 season on Monday.
Garry Peters is six foot and weighs 200 pounds. The 33-year-old from Conyers, Georgia, made 55 tackles, one sack, one interception, and one forced fumble in 18 games in 2024.
The Carolina Panthers signed Peters as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2015. In 2015, he attended training camp and was released on July 30, 2015. The Edmonton Eskimos signed Peters on May 29, 2016. He played two seasons in Edmonton making 59 tackles, and eight tackles on special teams in 17 games.
The B.C. Lions signed Peters on February 13, 2018. In six seasons, Peters made 332 tackles, 11 tackles on special teams, two sacks, 16 interceptions, and three forced fumbles in 103 games. He was named a two-time CFL West All-Star (2022-23), and a two-time CFL All-Star (2022-23).
Collegiately, Peters played four seasons at Clemson (2011-14) making 106 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 45 games for the Tigers. In 2012, He was named First-Team All-ACC as a senior in 2014.
