The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed defensive lineman Christian McCarroll on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Christian McCarroll is six foot two and weighs 253 pounds. The 25-year-old from Barberton, Ohio, signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent on August 20, 2024. In 2024, McCarroll made one tackle (1 assist) in one preseason game. The Patriots released him on August 26, 2024.

Collegiately, McCarroll played four seasons at Grand Valley State University (2019, 2021-23) making 151 tackles (50 solos, 101 assists), 31.5 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and one touchdown in 47 games for the Lakers.

In 2023, he made 67 tackles (21 solos, 46 assists), 15 tackles for loss, eight sacks, three pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 13 games. He was named two-time Defensive Player of the Year, two-time First Team All-GLIAC, and Consensus All-American.
