The Calgary Stampeders signed defensive back Anthony Johnson on Tuesday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Anthony Johnson is six foot two and weighs 205 pounds. The 25-year-old from Coconut Creek, Florida, signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. In 2023, he made seven tackles (5 solos, 2 assists) in three preseason games. The Saints released him on October 9, 2023. Next, the Green Bay Packers signed Johnson on October 17, 2023, and spent the rest of the season on the practice squad.

The Packers released him on May 6, 2024. Then, the Atlanta Falcons signed Johnson on May 15, 2024. In 2024, he made eight tackles (6 solos, 2 assists), and two pass breakups in three preseason games. The Falcons released him on August 27, 2024.

Collegiately, Johnson played three seasons at Louisville (2018-20) making 33 tackles (25 solos, 8 assists), three tackles for loss, two interceptions for 11 yards, 14 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 24 games for the Cardinals.

Then, he transferred to Virginia (2021-22) making 95 tackles (60 solos, 35 assists), five tackles for loss, five interceptions, and 18 pass breakups in 21 games for the Cavaliers. He was named First Team All-ACC in 2022.
