The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed defensive back Zamari Walton on Tuesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Zamari Walton is six foot three and weighs 185 pounds. The 26-year-old from Melbourne, Florida, signed with the Los Angeles Chargers on May 10, 2024. In 2024, Walton made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist), and one pass breakup in three preseason games. The Chargers released him on August 27, 2024.
Collegiately, Walton played five seasons at Georgia Tech (2018-22) making 125 tackles (87 solos, 38 assists), three tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions for six yards, 17 pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and one touchdown in 48 games for the Yellow Jackets. He was named an All-SEC Honorable Mention.
Then, Walton transferred to Ole Miss in 2023 making 38 tackles (23 solos, 15 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, nine pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 13 games for the Rebels. He was named an All-SEC Honorable Mention and participated in the 2024 Hula Bowl.
