The Michigan Panthers signed tight end Jalen Wydermyer, linebacker Ralen Goforth, and defensive back Arnold Tarpley III on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Jalen Wydermyer is six foot five and weighs 255 pounds. The 24-year-old from Dickinson, Texas, signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. In 2022, he played one preseason game recording no stats. The Bills released him on August 14, 2022.
He signed with the New England Patriots on August 18, 2022. Wydermyer made one catch for three yards in two preseason games. The Patriots released him on September 20, 2022. The Indianapolis Colts signed Wydermyer on October 17, 2022. The Colts released him on May 4, 2023.
Collegiately, Wydermyer played three seasons at Texas A&M (2019-21) making 118 catches for 1,468 yards, 16 touchdowns, and two tackles (2 solos) in 35 games for the Aggies. He was named a three-time Second Team All-SEC.
Ralen Goforth is six foot one and weighs 227 pounds. The 24-year-old from Long Beach, California, signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2024. In 2024, he made 15 tackles (8 solos, 7 assists) in three preseason games. The Packers released him on November 5, 2024.
Collegiately, Goforth played three seasons at USC (2019-21) making 106 tackles (41 solos, 65 assists), four tackles for loss, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 29 games for the Trojans. Then, he transferred to Washington in 2022 making 37 tackles (20 solos, 17 assists), four tackles for loss, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 15 games for the Huskies.
Arnold Tarpley III is six foot one and weighs 203 pounds. The 28-year-old from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was drafted by the Pittsburgh Maulers in the 18th round (145th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, Tarpley III made 43 tackles (25 solos, 18 assists), and one interception for 10 yards in seven games.
In 2023, Tarpley III made 42 tackles (29 solos, 13 assists), two tackles for loss, and three interceptions for 80 yards in 10 games. In the 2023 USFL Playoffs, Tarpley III made 12 tackles (8 solos, 4 assists), and one interception helping the Maulers appear in the USFL Championship Game against the Birmingham Stallions. He was named to the All-USFL Team.
The Maulers released him on October 17, 2023, and he signed with the Atlanta Falcons on October 18, 2023. He spent the season on the practice squad. In 2024, Tarpley III made 10 tackles (10 solos, 3 assists), and one pass breakup in three preseason games. The Falcons released him on August 27, 2024.
Collegiately, Tarpley III played four seasons at Vanderbilt (2014-17) making 123 tackles (85 solos, 38 assists), 10 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, eight pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 46 games for the Commodores.
