The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed defensive lineman Rondell Bothroyd on Wednesday.
Rondell Bothroyd is six foot three and weighs 273 pounds. The 25-year-old from Manchester, Connecticut, signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, Bothroyd made two tackles (2 solos), and one sack in three preseason games. The Bills released him on August 26, 2024.
Collegiately, Bothroyd played five seasons at Wake Forest (2018-22) making 136 tackles (68 solos, 68 assists), 30.5 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, three pass breakups, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, one blocked kick, and one punt return for 28 yards in 48 games for the Demon Deacons. He was named a two-time All-ACC Honorable Mention (2021-22).
Then, he transferred to Oklahoma in 2023 making 25 tackles (10 solos, 15 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in 13 games for the Sooners. He was named an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention.
