Birmingham Stallions sign four players including DE Bradlee Anae

The Birmingham Stallions signed wide receivers Jalen Camp and Tyron Johnson, defensive end Bradlee Anae, and defensive back Steven Gilmore on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Jalen Camp is six foot two and weighs 220 pounds. The 26-year-old from Cumming, Georgia, was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round (209th pick) of the 2021 NFL Draft. In 2021, he made one catch for nine yards in three preseason games. The Jaguars released him on August 31, 2021.

Next, the Houston Texans signed Camp on September 3, 2021. He played two seasons in Houston making one catch for seven yards in five games. In 2023, he made one catch for 11 yards. The Texans released him on August 29, 2023. He also spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers, and the Cleveland Browns.

Collegiately, Camp played five seasons at Georgia Tech (2016-20) making 48 catches for 808 yards, five touchdowns, and one carry for three yards in 49 games for the Yellow Jackets.

Tyron Johnson is six foot one and weighs 193 pounds. The 29-year-old from New Orleans, Louisiana, signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2019. In 2019, he made five catches for 75 yards and three kick returns for 84 yards in four preseason games. The Texans released him on August 31, 2019.

Johnson also spent time with the Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, and the Dallas Cowboys. He played 26 games making 23 catches for 422 yards, three touchdowns, three carries for 17 yards, 14 kick returns for 267 yards, and one tackle (1 solo).

Collegiately, Johnson played one season at LSU in 2015 making nine catches for 150 yards, and two touchdowns in nine games for the Tigers. Next, he transferred to Oklahoma State (2017-18) making 71 catches for 1,138 yards, 10 touchdowns, three carries for 15 yards, one touchdown, 13 kick returns for 264 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 25 games for the Cowboys.

Bradlee Anae is six foot three and weighs 260 pounds. The 26-year-old from Laie, Hawaii, was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round (179th pick) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played two seasons in Dallas making two tackles (2 solos) in 11 games. He became a free agent after the 2021 season.

The New York Jets signed Anae on January 19, 2022. In 2022, he made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist), and one sack in three preseason games. He spent the season on the practice squad. In 2023, he was placed on injured reserve and did not play the season. He became a free agent after the 2023 season.

The Atlanta Falcons signed Anae on May 13, 2024. In 2024, he made six tackles (3 solos, 3 assists), and 1.5 sacks in three preseason games. The Falcons released him on August 25, 2024. The Birmingham Stallions signed Anae on November 18, 2024.

The Stallions released Anae on December 18, 2024, and he signed with the New York Jets on the same day. He spent a few weeks on the practice squad and became a free agent after the season.

Collegiately, Anae played four seasons at Utah (2016-19) making 135 tackles (86 solos, 49 assists), 41.5 tackles for loss, 30 sacks, four pass breakups, six forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 47 games for the Utes. He was named a two-time First Team All-PAC 12, Consensus All-American, and won the Morris Trophy in 2019.

Steven Gilmore is six foot and weighs 174 pounds. The 25-year-old from Rock Hill, South Carolina, signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. In 2023, he made 10 tackles (5 solos, 5 assists), two interceptions for 24 yards, and four pass breakups in three preseason games. He dressed for three regular-season games but saw no action.

In 2024, Gilmore made seven tackles (7 solos), and one pass breakup in three preseason games. The Lions released him on August 27, 2024.

Collegiately, Gilmore played five seasons at Marshall (2018-22) making 200 tackles (124 solos, 76 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, nine interceptions for 124 yards, one touchdown, 44 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and four punt returns for 26 yards in 60 games for the Thundering Herd. He was named First Team All-CUSA in 2020, Second Team All-CUSA in 2021, and Second Team All-Sun Belt in 2022.
