The Montreal Alouettes signed wide receiver Jalen Wayne on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Jalen Wayne is six foot one and weighs 212 pounds. The 25-year-old from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. The Bills released him on July 29, 2023. Next, the Cleveland Browns signed Wayne on August 4, 2023. In 2023, he was targeted three times recording no stats in three preseason games. The Browns released him on August 27, 2023.
The Montreal Alouettes signed Wayne on January 22, 2024. In 2024, he made four catches for 26 yards in two preseason games. The Alouettes released him on June 1, 2024. Then, the Green Bay Packers signed Wayne on July 19, 2024. He made one catch for eight yards and one tackle (1 solo) in three preseason games. The Packers released him on September 10, 2024.
Collegiately, Wayne played six seasons at South Alabama (2017-22) making 152 catches for 1,978 yards, 14 touchdowns, four carries for 33 yards, and five punt returns for 38 yards in 61 games for the Jaguars. He was an All-Sun Belt Conference Honorable Mention in 2022.
