The B.C. Lions released offensive lineman Kent Perkins to pursue other opportunities on Saturday.

Kent Perkins is six foot four and weighs 310 pounds. The 30-year-old from Dallas, Texas, started 18 games for the B.C. Lions in 2024. In 2024, B.C.’s offense averaged 24.9 points per game, 364.0 net offense per game, 101 yards per game, 283.3 passing yards per game, 42 touchdowns, and allowed 43 sacks.

The Cincinnati Bengals signed Perkins as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2017. Perkins spent two seasons in Cincinnati playing one regular season game. Next, the St. Louis Battlehawks (XFL) drafted Perkins in the fourth round (30th pick) in Phase 2 of the 2020 XFL Draft. In 2020, he started five games for St. Louis before the league shut down due to COVID-19.

The B.C. Lions signed Perkins on December 28, 2020. He played 67 games in four seasons in British Columbia. In 2023, B.C.’s offense finished third in average offense points (26.1), touchdowns (45), average net offense (371.2), first in average passing yards (315.1), ninth in average rushing yards (77.3), and sixth in sacks allowed (53).

Collegiately, Perkins played four seasons at Texas (2013-16) playing right guard and right tackle in 39 games for the Longhorns. In 2016, Texas averaged 31.92 points per game, 239.3 rushing yards per game, 252 passing yards per game, 491.3 total yards per game, 48 touchdowns, and allowed 30 sacks finishing 5-7 for the season. Perkins was named Second Team All-Big 12.
