Paris Musketeers name Jack Del Rio as the new Head Coach

The Paris Musketeers of the European League of Football named former Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio the new head coach. He takes over for former coach Marc Mattioli, who stepped down to become an offensive coordinator at Kennesaw State.

Jack Del Rio is 61 years old and is from Castro Valley, California. As a head coach in the NFL, he went 93-94 in 12 seasons and appeared in two postseason games with one in Jacksonville, and one in Oakland. Del Rio’s last job was with the Washington Commanders from 2020 to 2023. He was also a defensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers.

In addition, Del Rio was also a linebackers coach for the New Orleans Saints and the Baltimore Ravens helping the Ravens win Super Bowl XXXV. In 2016, Del Rio was named the Maxwell Football Club NFL Coach of the Year. In 2024, Del Rio was the senior advisor to the head coach at Wisconsin.

As a player, Del Rio played 11 seasons as a linebacker for the New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, and the Minnesota Vikings making 1,005 tackles, 13 sacks, 13 interceptions for 128 yards, one touchdown, 12 forced fumbles, 14 fumble recoveries, and two touchdowns in 160 games.

The Saints drafted Del Rio in the third round (68th pick) of the 1985 NFL Draft. He made the Pro Bowl in 1994. Collegiately, Del Rio played at USC (1981-84) making 340 tackles, and 58 tackles for loss. He was named a two-time First All-PAC 10, Consensus All-American, and was named a Co-MVP of the Rose Bowl in 1985.
