The Ottawa Redblacks and quarterback Dustin Crum agreed to a one-year contract extension through the 2025 season on Monday.
Dustin Crum is six foot one and weighs 210 pounds. The 26-year-old from Grafton, Ohio, completed 31 of 45 passes (68%) For 320 yards, two interceptions, 39 carries for 206 yards, and seven touchdowns in 18 games in 2024.
The Kansas City Chiefs signed Crum as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2022. In 2022, he completed 10 of 15 passes (66.7%) for 56 yards, and six carries for 25 yards in three preseason games. The Chiefs released him on August 27, 2022.
The Ottawa Redblacks signed Crum on September 6, 2022, and he spent the rest of the season on the practice squad. In 2023, he completed 266 of 385 passes (69%) for 3,109 yards, 10 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 97 carries for 741 yards, and nine touchdowns in 18 games.
Collegiately, Crum played five seasons at Kent State (2017-21) completing 576 of 864 (67%) for 7,401 yards, 55 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 477 carries for 2,071 yards, 24 touchdowns, punted the ball three times for 62 yards (20.7 AVG), and one tackle (1 solo) in 50 games for the Golden Flashes.
In the 2019 Frisco Bowl, Crum completed 21 of 26 (81%) for 289 yards and two touchdowns, helping the Golden Flashes beat the Utah State Aggies 51-41. Crum was named Frisco Bowl MVP. He was also named First Team All-MAC in 2020.
