The Calgary Stampeders signed defensive back Tyler Baker-Williams on Tuesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Tyler Baker-Williams is six foot and weighs 206 pounds. The 23-year-old from Raleigh, North Carolina, signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. In 2023, he made one tackle (1 solo) in three preseason games. The Chargers released him on August 29, 2023.
The New Orleans Breakers drafted Baker-Williams in the 10th round (76th pick) of the 2023 USFL Draft, and signed with the Breakers on October 27, 2023. However, he became a free agent after the Breakers were not included in the USFL and XFL merger forming the United Football League.
Collegiately, Baker-Williams played five seasons at North Carolina State (2018-22) making 153 tackles (81 solos, 72 assists), 13 tackles for loss, three sacks, five interceptions for eight yards, 22 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 46 games for the Wolfpack. Baker-Williams was named Second Team All-ACC by PFF and a two-time All-ACC Honorable Mention.
