The Toronto Argonauts re-signed wide receiver Damonte Coxie to a two-year contract extension through the 2026 season and signed running back Jyran Mitchell and defensive back Stephane East on Wednesday.

Damonte Coxie is six foot three and weighs 200 pounds. The 27-year-old from Reserve, Louisiana, made 59 catches for 860 yards, and four touchdowns in 17 games helping them win their second Grey Cup championship in three seasons. In the 111th Grey Cup, Coxie made three catches for 29 yards in a 41-24 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Coxie attended the Green Bay Packers rookie minicamp in 2021. The Toronto Argonauts signed Coxie as a free agent on January 24, 2022. In 2022, Coxie made 15 catches for 210 yards in seven games helping them win the Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In 2023, he made 39 catches for 787 yards, five touchdowns, and one kick return for five yards in 15 games.

Collegiately, Coxie played four seasons at Memphis (2017-20) with 185 catches for 2,948 yards, 20 touchdowns, one kick return for two yards, and one punt return for three yards in 43 games for the Tigers. He was a two-time Second Team All-AAC in 2018 and 2019.

Jyran Mitchell is six foot and weighs 205 pounds. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Mitchell went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Collegiately, Mitchell played two seasons at Northern Illinois (2018-19) with two carries for -2 yards, one kick return for 25 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in nine games for the Huskies.

Next, he transferred to Eastern Kentucky University (2021-22) with one carry for three yards, completing 1of 2 passes (50%) for 42 yards, 38 catches for 428 yards, two touchdowns, one kick return for 14 yards, and seven tackles (7 solos) in 21 games for the Colonels.

Then, he transferred to Butler in 2023 with 199 carries for 1,268 yards, 12 touchdowns, completed 3 of 3 passes (100%) for 23 yards, 23 catches for 202 yards, and three touchdowns in 11 games for the Bulldogs. He was named First Team All-Pioneer League, the Pioneer League Offensive Player of the Year, and a finalist for the Walter Peyton Award.

Stephane East is six foot two and weighs 190 pounds. The 24-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, went undrafted in the 2024 CFL Draft.

Collegiately, East attended St. Michael’s College School where he played basketball, volleyball, and track. Then, he transferred to Queen’s University (2019, 2021-23) making 23 tackles (22 solos, 1 assist), three interceptions for 47 yards, and eight pass breakups in 16 games for the Gaels.
