The Birmingham Stallions signed wide receivers Davion Davis and Joseph Ngata, and linebacker Kyahva Tezino on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Davion Davis is five foot eleven and weighs 195 pounds. The 28-year-old from Hutto, Texas, signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2019. In 2019, he made two catches for 11 yards, one carry for 10 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in four preseason games.
He spent the season on the practice squad and the Vikings released him on August 3, 2020. He also spent time with the Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, and the Houston Roughnecks (XFL).
The Birmingham Stallions signed Davis on March 11, 2023. In 2023, Davis made 39 catches for 575 yards, four touchdowns, one carry for seven yards, one kick return for 19 yards, and 13 punt returns for 120 yards in 10 games. In the 2023 USFL playoffs, Davis made eight catches for 130 yards, three touchdowns, one carry for five yards, and one punt return for two yards in two games helping the Stallions with their second USFL Championship over the Pittsburgh Maulers.
The Stallions released him on July 24, 2023, and signed with the Arizona Cardinals on July 25, 2023. Davis made four catches for 59 yards, one touchdown, five kick returns for 59 yards, and two punt returns for 34 yards in three preseason games.
The Cardinals released him on November 21, 2023. Davis also spent time with the Houston Texans and the Washington Commanders. In 2024, he made four catches for 20 yards, and three punt returns for 18 yards in three preseason games. The Commanders released him on August 27, 2024.
Collegiately, Davis played four seasons at Sam Houston State (2015-18) making 226 catches for 3,181 yards, 40 touchdowns, 19 carries for 167 yards, three touchdowns, eight kick returns for 178 yards, 21 punt returns for 329 yards, two touchdowns, three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist), one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 49 games for the Bearkats. He was named First Team FCS All-American, two-time First Team All-SLC, and SLC Offensive Player of the Year.
Joseph Ngata is six foot three and weighs 217 pounds. The 24-year-old from Reno, Nevada, signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023. In 2023, he made six catches for 75 yards in three preseason games. In 2024, he made five catches for 88 yards in three preseason games. He spent two seasons on the practice squad and the Eagles released him on January 14, 2025.
Collegiately, Ngata played four seasons at Clemson (2019-22) making 88 catches for 1,287 yards, six touchdowns, and 14 punt returns for 206 yards in 45 games for the Tigers.
Kyahva Tezino is six foot and weighs 235 pounds. The 27-year-old from Los Angeles, California, signed with the Birmingham Stallions on December 27, 2023.
In 2024, Tezino made 70 tackles (38 solos, 32 assists), three tackles for loss, half a sack, and five pass breakups in 10 games. In the UFL Playoffs, Tezino made 15 tackles (8 solo, 7 assists), two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in two games helping the Stallions win their third consecutive championship (2 USFL, 1 UFL).
The Stallions released him on August 19, 2024, and he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on August 20, 2024. Tezino made four tackles (1 solo, 3 assists) in one preseason game. The Steelers released him on August 26, 2024.
Tezino signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He also had a stint with the Carolina Panthers. The Pittsburgh Maulers drafted Tezino in the 31st round (249th pick) of the 2022 USFL Draft. In 2022, Tezino made 86 tackles (56 solos, 30 assists), five tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, eight sacks, one interception, three forced fumbles, and six pass breakups in nine games.
In 2023, Tezino made 94 tackles (53 solos, 41 assists), nine tackles for loss, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, two touchdowns, and six pass breakups in ten games for the Pittsburgh Maulers.
In the USFL Playoffs, Tezino made 22 tackles (15 solos, 7 assists) and one fumble recovery in two games leading the Maulers to the 2023 USFL Championship. He was named the All-USFL Team after the season. After the season, Tezino signed with the San Francisco 49ers with one tackle (1 solo) in three preseason games.
Collegiately, Tezino played four seasons at San Diego State (2016-19) with 290 tackles (150 solos, 140 assists), 32.5 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, two interceptions, eight pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 47 games for the Aztecs.
He was named a two-time First Team All-Mountain West in 2018 and 2019, winner of the SDSU Byron H. Chase Memorial Trophy Defensive Player of the Year in 2018, and was named the New Mexico Bowl Defensive MVP in 2019.
