The D.C. Defenders re-signed defensive end Malik Fisher on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Malik Fisher is six foot three and weighs 262 pounds. The 25-year-old from New York, New York, went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. Then, the D.C. Defenders acquired him in the 2022 XFL Draft via player allocations. In 2023, Fisher made six tackles (3 solos, 3 assists) in seven games helping the Defenders reach the XFL Championship Game against the Arlington Renegades.
In 2024, Fisher made 33 tackles (18 solo, 15 assists), seven tackles for loss, seven sacks, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 10 games. After the season, Fisher worked out for the Baltimore Ravens. The Defenders released him on July 15, 2024, and he signed with the Houston Texans on July 17, 2024. Fisher made six tackles (2 solos, 4 assists) in four preseason games. The Texans released him on September 2, 2024.
Collegiately, Fisher played five seasons at Villanova (2017-21) making 123 tackles (64 solos, 59 assists), 33.5 tackles for loss, 22 sacks, two interceptions for one yard, 8 pass breakups, 9 forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and one blocked kick in 52 games for the Wildcats. He was named First Team All-CAA in 2020, and Second Team All-CAA in 2021.
