The Memphis Showboats signed tight end Chris Pierce Jr. and defensive back James Jones IV on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Chris Pierce Jr. is six foot four and weighs 235 pounds. The 26-year-old from Smithfield, Virginia, signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. In 2022, Pierce Jr. made one catch for 19 yards in three preseason games. The Cardinals released him on July 25, 2023.

The Birmingham Stallions signed Pierce Jr. on September 6, 2023. He was released on December 12, 2023, and signed with the Carolina Panthers on December 13, 2023. The Panthers released him on May 10, 2024.

Collegiately, Pierce Jr. played five seasons at Vanderbilt University (2017-21) making 109 catches for 1,398 yards and nine touchdowns in 55 games for the Commodores. In his final season, Pierce Jr. made 57 catches for 654 yards and two touchdowns. 

James Jones IV is five foot eleven and weighs 171 pounds. A native of Denver, Colorado, Jones IV attended the Miami Dolphins rookie minicamp in 2022. The Arlington Renegades signed Jones IV on May 22, 2024. In 2024, he did not see any action and became a free agent after the season.

Collegiately, Jones IV played four seasons at Air Force (2017-19, 2021) making 66 tackles (30 solos, 36 assists), two pass breakups, one interception for 18 yards, and one forced fumble in 35 games, of which 10 were starts for the Falcons.
