The Calgary Stampeders and linebacker Micah Teitz agreed to a one-year contract extension through the 2025 season on Friday.
Micah Teitz is six foot two and weighs 225 pounds. The 28-year-old from Calgary, Alberta, signed with the Calgary Stampeders on February 13, 2024. In 2024, Teitz made 10 tackles, 12 tackles on special teams, and one forced fumble in 18 games.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders drafted Teitz in the second round (14th pick) of the 2018 CFL Draft. In four seasons, Teitz has made 127 tackles, 31 tackles on special teams, and three sacks in 59 games. In 2023, he made 57 tackles and six tackles on special teams in 18 games. The Roughriders released him on February 12, 2024.
Collegiately, Teitz played four seasons at the University of Calgary (2014-17) making 191 tackles (149 solos, 86 assists), 16 tackles for loss, seven sacks, nine pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in 41 games for the Dinos. He was named U Sports Second Team All-Canadian in 2015.
