The Toronto Argonauts signed defensive lineman Andre Carter on Friday.
Andre Carter is six foot five and weighs 270 pounds. The 24-year-old from Detroit, Michigan, signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024.
The Jaguars released him on July 30, 2024. The Cincinnati Bengals signed Carter on August 7, 2024. In 2024, Carter made six tackles (3 solos, 3 assists) in three preseason games. The Bengals released him on August 23, 2024.
The Toronto Argonauts acquired Carter, along with a conditional 2026 fifth-round draft pick from the Ottawa Redblacks for running back Daniel Adeboboye on January 14, 2025.
Collegiately, Carter played five seasons at Western Michigan (2018-22) making 132 tackles (67 solos, 65 assists), 28 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, one interception for 11 yards, three pass breakups, five forced fumbles, and two touchdowns in 47 games for the Broncos.
Then, he transferred to Indiana in 2023 making 49 tackles (27 solos, 22 assists), 11 tackles for loss, two sacks, and three pass breakups in 12 games for the Hoosiers.
