The Ottawa Redblacks re-signed linebacker Jovan Santos-Knox and defensive back Deandre Lamont to one-year contract extensions through the 2025 season on Tuesday.

Jovan Santos-Knox is six foot two and weighs 233 pounds. The 30-year-old from Waterbury, Connecticut, made 65 tackles, two sacks, and one interception in 12 games for the Redblacks in 2024. He missed six games in 2024 due to a knee injury.

Santos-Knox signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on June 18, 2017, after a successful tryout. He played two seasons in Winnipeg with 129 tackles, 20 tackles on special teams, eight sacks, and two interceptions in 34 games, of 26 were starts. Next, he signed with the Edmonton Eskimos (now Elks) on February 13, 2019. In 2019, he made 13 tackles, one tackle on special teams, and one sack in three games, of which two were starts.

After Edmonton, Santos-Knox signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on February 6, 2021. He played two seasons in Hamilton making 177 tackles, two sacks, and one interception in 31 games. In 2022, he was named a CFL East All-Star.

The Ottawa Redblacks signed Santos-Knox as a free agent on February 7, 2023. He missed six games of the 2023 season due to an ankle injury but finished the season making 64 tackles, and three sacks in 12 games.

Collegiately, Santos-Knox played four seasons at the University of Massachusetts (2012-15) making 338 tackles (117 solos, 338 assists), 24.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, two interceptions, 13 pass breakups, five forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 46 games for the Minutemen.

Deandre Lamont is five foot eleven and weighs 190 pounds. The 24-year-old from Baytown, Texas, signed with the Ottawa Redblacks on May 4, 2023. In 2023, he made 25 tackles, one tackle on special teams, and two interceptions in 11 games. In 2024, he made 86 tackles, five tackles on special teams, and one interception in 18 games.

Collegiately, Lamont played five seasons at Central Arkansas (2017-21) making 150 tackles (95 solos, 55 assists), five tackles for loss, five interceptions for 35 yards, 20 pass breakups, one forced fumble, five fumble recoveries, and one blocked kick in 37 games for the Bears. He was First Team All-SUN in 2021.

Then, he transferred to Illinois State in 2022 making 68 tackles (35 solos, 33 assists), three tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception for three yards, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 11 games for the Redbirds.
