The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed running back Trent Pennix on Tuesday.

Trent Pennix is six foot two and weighs 234 pounds. The 25-year-old from Raleigh, North Carolina, signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, he made one catch for seven yards in one preseason game. He spent most of the season on the practice squad before the Colts released him on October 21, 2024.

Collegiately, Pennix played five seasons at N.C. State (2018-23) playing running back and tight end with 41 carries for 240 yards, one touchdown, 55 catches for 712 yards, 11 touchdowns, two kick returns for 15 yards, and seven tackles (2 solos, 7 assists) in 23 games for the Wolfpack.
