Arlington Renegades sign three players, release running back Leddie Brown

The Arlington Renegades signed offensive lineman Kellen Diesch, defensive backs Carlton Johnson and Brady Breeze, and released running back Leddie Brown on Thursday according to Fox Sports.

Kellen Diesch is six foot seven and weighs 300 pounds. The 27-year-old from Dallas, Texas, signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. He also spent time with the Chicago Bears, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots, and the Tennessee Titans. Diesch played three preseason games for the Chicago Bears in 2023 and three preseason games for the New England Patriots in 2024.

Collegiately, Diesch played four seasons at Texas A&M (2016-19) playing 23 games for the Aggies. In 2019, Texas A&M averaged 29.54 points per game, 159.2 rushing yards per game, 235.38 passing yards per game, 394.5 total yards per game, 47 touchdowns, and allowed 33 sacks finishing 8-5 for the season beating Oklahoma State in the 2019 Texas Bowl.

Then, Diesch transferred to Arizona State (2020-21) playing nine games for the Sun Devils. In 2021, Arizona State averaged 28.38 points per game, 193.4 rushing yards per game, 194.69 passing yards per game, 388.1 total yards per game, 49 touchdowns, and allowed 26 sacks finishing 8-5 for the season losing to Wisconsin in the 2021 Las Vegas Bowl.

Carlton Johnson is five foot eleven and weighs 175 pounds. A native of Moreno Valley, California, Johnson signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2024. In 2024, he made five tackles (4 solos, 1 assist) in three preseason games. The Seahawks released him on August 27, 2024.

Collegiately, Johnson played two seasons at Southern Utah (2018-19) making seven tackles (6 solos, 1 assist), one pass breakup, one fumble recovery, and one carry for two yards in five games for the Thunderbirds. He was named Third Team All-Big Sky Conference and Freshman All-American by Athlon Sports in 2019.

Next, he transferred to Riverside Community College in 2021 making 45 tackles (34 solos, 11 assists), two interceptions for 123 yards, two touchdowns, 11 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 11 games for the Tigers. He helped Riverside win the CCCAA State Championship.

Then, he transferred to Fresno State (2022-23) making 72 tackles (53 solos, 19 assists), four tackles for loss, one sack, five interceptions, and 14 pass breakups in 17 games for the Bulldogs. He was named Second Team All-Mountain West in 2023.

Brady Breeze is six foot and weighs 200 pounds. The 27-year-old from Medford, Oregon, was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round (215th pick) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He also spent time with the Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans, and the Cleveland Browns. Breeze played 11 regular season games making six tackles (5 solos, 1 assist).

The Cleveland Browns signed Breeze on June 5, 2024. In 2024, Breeze made 11 tackles (7 solos, 4 assists), and one sack in one preseason game. The Browns released him on August 27, 2024.

Collegiately, Breeze played three seasons at Oregon (2017-19) making 95 tackles (65 solos, 30 assists), three interceptions for 32 yards, one touchdown, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble, four fumble recoveries, and one touchdown in 38 games for the Ducks.

In 2019, he was named the Rose Bowl MVP after making 11 tackles (9 solos, 2 assists), one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one pass breakup against Wisconsin.

Leddie Brown is six foot and weighs 212 pounds. The 25-year-old from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. In 2022, Brown had 9 carries for 16 yards and six catches for 28 yards in three preseason games. The Chargers released him on August 30, 2022.

Then, he was drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks in the fifth round (38th pick) in Phase 6 of the 2023 XFL. The Battlehawks released him on February 9, 2023, and Brown signed with the Arlington Renegades on March 17, 2023.

In 2023, Brown had 50 carries for 179 yards, 12 catches for 104 yards, and six kick returns for 111 yards in five games for the Arlington Renegades in 2023 helping them win the XFL Championship over the D.C. Defenders.

In 2024, Brown had 39 carries for 124 yards and 15 catches for 126 yards in six games before he was placed on injured reserve and missed the rest of the season. The Renegades re-signed Brown on December 16, 2024.

Collegiately, Brown played four seasons at West Virginia (2018-21) with 620 carries for 2,888 yards, 27 touchdowns, 86 catches for 604 yards, five touchdowns, and three tackles (3 solo) in 44 games for the Mountaineers. He was named First Team All-Big 12 by the Coaches, AP, Phil Steele, and Heartland in 2020.
