The B.C. Lions and wide receiver Justin McInnis agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2026 season on Friday.
Justin McInnis is six foot five and weighs 210 pounds. The 28-year-old from Pierrefonds, Quebec, made 92 catches for 1,469 yards, and seven touchdowns in 18 games for the Lions in 2024. He was named to the All-CFL Team and a CFL West All-Star.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders drafted McInnis in the first round (6th pick) in the 2019 CFL Draft. In 2022, he made 33 catches for 364 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games. McInnis played three seasons in Saskatchewan with 48 catches for 596 yards, and two touchdowns in 33 games.
The B.C. Lions signed McInnis on February 14, 2023. In 2023, he made 46 catches for 690 yards, five touchdowns, and one punt return for -1 yard in 18 games.
Collegiately, McInnis played one season at Dodge City Community College in 2015 making 49 catches for 964 yards, seven touchdowns, two punt returns for 46 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 12 games for the Conquistadors.
Then, he transferred to Arkansas State (2016-18) making 120 catches for 1,631 yards, ten touchdowns, two carries for -8 yards, one punt return for 17 yards, one touchdown, one tackle (1 assist), half tackle for loss, and one blocked kick in 38 games for the Red Wolves. He was named Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference in 2018.
