The Hamilton Tiger-Cats re-signed wide receiver Tyler Ternowski to a one-year contract extension through the 2025 season on Friday. Ternowski was scheduled to be a free agent next month.
Tyler Ternowski is six foot and weighs 185 pounds. The 26-year-old from Hamilton, Ontario, re-signed with the Ticats on February 7, 2024. In 2024, he made six catches for 67 yards in 16 games.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted Ternowski in the third round (27th pick) of the 2020 CFL Draft. In 2023, he made six catches for 40 yards, one touchdown, one kick return for three yards, and four tackles on special teams in seven games.
In four seasons with Hamilton, Ternowski has made 28 catches for 346 yards, one touchdown, one kick return for three yards, one tackle, and 23 tackles on special teams in 37 games.
Collegiately, Ternowski played four seasons at the University of Waterloo (2016-19) making 169 catches for 3,066 yards, 26 touchdowns, eight carries for 38 yards, completing 1 of 2 passes (50%) for 19 yards, one interception, 30 kick returns for 526 yards, and one punt return for 43 yards in 30 games for the Warriors. He was a two-time U Sports First Team All-Canadian.
